I'm Jane Longson, as an APDT qualified dog trainer, I bring 9 years of experience, having trained with top professionals and specialise in positive, fun dog training.

Accredited by the APDT, with Membership Number 01652, I offer 4-6 week Group Courses, Skills Workshops and One-to-One Sessions to enhance your dog's skills and behaviour.

I originally launched my dog training business under the name Train with Jane, a business built around my core values of teamwork, empathy, and support. My aim was to create a fun, educational environment for both dogs and their owners. As the business grew, I wanted it to reflect a true partnership, working alongside you and your dog to make training both enjoyable and effective. The new name, Train Dogs Together, embodies this approach perfectly.

Professional Journey

Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent over 20 years teaching in mainstream and special needs schools, including roles as Head of Literacy and mentor for future teachers. In 2015, I transitioned to tutoring children with dyslexia and discovered the benefits of "read2me" dogs for reluctant readers. Archie, my sprocker spaniel, joined my team, but his energy proved too much for the role. Later, Maddie, my springer spaniel, and Pepper, my cocker spaniel, joined the family. As Archie became more challenging, I realised that improving my understanding of canine behaviour was key, so I sought further knowledge.

I completed a variety of courses, including the APDT’s Foundation and Part Two in 2019 and 2020. My interest in gundog training grew after meeting Mandy Bloomfield and Jules Morgan, who mentored me and employed me to work alongside them. Their guidance, combined with my training at the Gundog Training Academy deepened my passion. I’ve worked closely with them over the years and have gained invaluable experience.

In 2023, I passed my final APDT assessment, marking a milestone in my journey. This led to the launch of Train with Jane, combining years of learning and experience now focused on helping others to build strong bonds with their dogs.
