GDPR Data Protection Policy

Introduction

  1. The purpose of this policy outlines Train Dogs Together commitment to data protection and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

  2. This policy applies to all personal data collected, processed, and stored by Train Dogs Together.

Data Collection and Processing

  1. Train Dogs Together will collect and process personal data only when there is a lawful basis for doing so, such as consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, legitimate interests, or vital interests.

  2. Train Dogs Together will only collect and process personal data that is necessary for the intended purpose of organising dog training classes.

  3. Train Dogs Together will obtain explicit and informed consent from individuals before collecting and processing their personal data, and individuals have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

Data Security

  1. Data Protection Measures: Train Dogs Together will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction – all files will be password protected and encrypted.

  2. Access to personal data will be restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate need for access – Jane Longson only.

Data Subject Rights

  1. Train Dogs Together will respect and facilitate the exercise of data subjects' rights, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability.

  2. Train Dogs Together has procedures in place to promptly respond to and report data breaches to the appropriate authorities and affected data subjects.

Data Retention

  1. Train Dogs Together will retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law. It will be deleted after courses attend unless you are moving onto the next class.

  2. Train Dogs Together will obtain explicit and informed consent from individuals before collecting and processing their personal data, and individuals have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

Data Protection Officer (DPO)

  1. Train Dogs Together designates Jane Longson as the Data Protection Officer responsible for overseeing GDPR compliance.

Training and Awareness

  1. Train Dogs Together will provide training and awareness programs to ensure that employees/volunteers are informed about GDPR requirements and their role in data protection.

Review and Compliance

  1. This policy will be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure ongoing GDPR compliance.
